A Bit About Our Director

Steven has over 30 years’ experience in the Construction, Scaffolding and Access Industry. During this time, he has progressed through roles of Scaffolder, Team Leader, Contract Manager, Coordinator, Inspector, Managing Director and more recently Scaffolding Instructor, Health and Safety Consultant, Internal Quality Assurer, A1 Assessor and Lead Auditor. In these roles he has gained valuable experience in work based on both within the Oil and Gas processing, Construction, Industrial and Domestic Housing industries.

 

Steve has been a Fully Accredited & Registered CITB/CISRS Scaffold Instructor & PASMA Instructor during his career and actively undertakes bespoke training solutions for clients. Steve is still an active member of the IIRSM (International Institute Risk Safety Management) and his current membership level is full member and

undertakes a voluntary role as an ambassador on their behalf.

Best for Solutions is an independent consultancy offering personal client safety services for the scaffolding sector and Audits on behalf of the Scaffolding Association. He vacated the business to create ScaffSafe Ltd.

UAE business of temporary works UK company 48.3 scaffold designs where Steve was employed as Senior International Instructor / Assessor for the Middle Eastern region. Delivering CITB, PASMA & LAYHER training and also undertaking the role of training new Instructors to add the vast growing network of the company. The role also includes the monitoring of the centres. Active involvement of development of staff and dealing with all Health & Safety aspects of the business along with the Health & Safety Consultancy side of the business. Steve was an active member of the IIRSM (International Institute Risk Safety Management) Middle East Region and was pivotal in writing the UAE and African Scaffold Standards for their Health and Safety Policies.

Employed as our International Scaffolding Instructor for Simian Skill UAE. His role includes the management of the training delivery team and provides technical expertise to internal and external stakeholders. He is responsible for reviewing training and development needs of staff through observation and performance reviews and ensuring continued currency and competency is maintained. I was accountable for Course Development and Standardisation and ensuring that all training provision meets the needs of the department, clients and that it falls within the criteria of awarding bodies such as CISRS.

Employed as Scaffold Assessor and Internal verifier for all aspects of CISRS training and NVQ Qualifications of the QCF framework for Scaffolders Diploma levels 2 & 3. I was a major developer in the E-portfolio framework run by Cskills. This enabled delegates to utilise the internet in fulfilment of achieving for all delegates. I often worked out of hours giving his own personal time is assisting delegates with online issues.

Employed as Scaffold Instructor and Assessor, I was involved in training delegates using the QCF framework for scaffolders diploma level 2 & 3. During my time there I completely took my leadership skills and transformed the training Centre into a state-of-the-art training Centre. I undertook my Internal Verification Qualifications while he was there and really brought the training Centre into the current market with a dynamic unique approach. Neta is now under Stockton Collage and still going strong in the UK training market.

In this former role, I had responsibility for overseeing, advising, and collaborating on all contracts and complex structural design projects. In addition, he developed and ensured all company safe working procedures and relevant industry standards were implemented and 

maintained during all installation and dismantling processes with his own health and safety business. He also worked as a freelance CISRS registered Instructor at 3 other registered CISRS accredited centres in the UK delivering training from beginner level to management level.

 

His duties included the development and implementation of all operatives’ and management’s personal training plans, undertaking of all applications for the achieving and maintaining of all externally awarded company accreditations; and ensuring efficiency, compliancy and productivity standards were maintained, ensuring contracts were always delivered on time and to their specific program specifications.
